Apartment Renovation Project in a 1972 Building

Originally, these were two separate apartments that had been merged by the previous owners. In the renovation, we restored them as two independent units and redesigned the layouts and zoning
The goal of the project was to create spaces equally suitable for permanent living and attractive as summer residences for buyers from Northern Europe
Layout Solutions and Functionality

In the entrance area, space was provided for a chest of drawers and a mirror. If needed, future owners can replace them with a full-size wardrobe

On the terrace, areas were designed for installing a water softener and additional storage

In the kitchen, open shelves were used to create a sense of lightness; the system can easily be expanded if required

Storage systems were selected from the IKEA collection, allowing for flexible replacement of internal modules

For maximum ergonomics in bathrooms, wall-mounted cabinets with integrated lighting were added above the sinks
Materials and Style

The flooring is local Vinisalem marble, characteristic of the regional architecture

The sanitary fixtures are finished in matte black — a universal and contemporary solution

The wall color is white with a subtle gray undertone, enhancing the sense of light and space

Textiles include linen curtains, while blackout functionality is provided by blinds

The furniture is minimalist: beds without headboards make the rooms feel more spacious, and a bouclé fabric sofa creates the impression of a light “cloud”
Comfort and Details

All rooms feature two lighting scenarios: bright built-in ceiling lights and soft LED ambient lighting

At the client’s request, a shower was added on the terrace — more of a personal whim than a functional necessity

For the bathrooms, floor drains with a tile-insert water trap were selected, with the option to switch to a “dry” system to prevent odors during long absences
The main concept of the project was to create practical and adaptable spaces that remain bright, modern, and comfortable, while preserving a sense of lightness and Mediterranean character
